Character
The Cancer shell is famous. Less famous is what it is for: not keeping people out, but keeping the feelings in, because there are a great many of them and most of them are large. A Cancer takes care of everyone in the room and then goes home and takes care of the memory of it.
They do not forget. A kindness from 2009 is still on the books. So is the other thing you said.
Strengths
Loyalty that does not keep score in public. Intuition that knows you are upset before you do. A Cancer's home is the place where other signs go to fall apart safely, and the Cancer will feed them while they do it.
They are far tougher than the soft exterior suggests. The shell is not decoration.
Weak spots
