Sign
Sagittarius
November 22 - December 21 · fire · ruled by Jupiter
Sagittarius is already somewhere else. Optimistic, blunt, allergic to fences, funny at the wrong moment and right more often than is comfortable.
Character
A Sagittarius believes the next place will be better and goes to check. Travel, philosophy, a new religion before breakfast - the appetite is for distance, inner and outer. They are the zodiac's teachers and its truants, often at the same time.
Honesty is a reflex, not a policy. The Sagittarius who told you the dress was wrong was trying to help, and is baffled that you are crying.
Strengths
Optimism that is actually useful - it keeps everyone moving when the map runs out. Generosity of spirit, time and opinion. A Sagittarius makes the world feel larger just by describing it.
They forgive fast, forget faster and rarely hold anything heavier than a backpack.
Weak spots
Tact. Follow-through. The address of the place they promised to be. A Sagittarius overcommits out of enthusiasm and undelivers out of distraction, and feels genuinely wronged when this is pointed out.
Restlessness can look like growth for a long time before it looks like running.
Love
Sagittarius loves freely and wants it returned the same way - without the leash. They need a partner who is also a travel companion, a sparring partner and someone with their own life to go back to. Clinginess is the fastest exit.
Commitment is possible. It just has to feel like a choice made daily, not a door closed once.
Work and money
Anything with a horizon: teaching, publishing, travel, the law in its philosophical rather than its paperwork form. A Sagittarius in a cubicle is a wild animal in a very small zoo.
Money arrives in bursts and leaves on planes. The retirement plan is to be interesting.
Gets along with
Aries and Leo keep the fire going. Libra and Aquarius keep the ideas going. Gemini, the opposite sign, is the other restless mind - together they never finish a conversation and never want to.
