Sign
Capricorn
December 22 - January 19 · earth · ruled by Saturn
Capricorn is climbing. Patient, dry, responsible since the age of six, and funnier than anyone expects, because the jokes are quiet and the timing is perfect.
Character
A Capricorn was born middle-aged and grows younger with every decade, which is the best-kept secret in the zodiac. The young Capricorn is grim with duty. The old Capricorn has done the duty and is finally, drily, having fun.
They respect what lasts - institutions, reputations, a good coat. They distrust shortcuts and the people who take them, and they are usually right.
Strengths
Discipline that does not need an audience or a reward. Ambition that plays the long game while others play for applause. A Capricorn's word is a contract, and their presence in a crisis is a load-bearing wall.
They are loyal in the practical way: not with speeches, but by showing up, every time, on time.
Weak spots
Work becomes the whole identity and rest becomes a kind of failure. A Capricorn can be so busy securing the future that the present goes unlived.
Coldness is the reputation. The truth is caution - feeling shown is feeling risked, and a Capricorn does not risk what cannot be recovered.
Love
Capricorn loves slowly, seriously and for keeps. The courtship is an interview and the commitment is a merger. They show affection through reliability, provision and the occasional dry remark that is, if you listen, a declaration.
They need a partner who respects the work and insists on the holidays. Someone has to drag the goat off the mountain.
Work and money
Management, finance, architecture, anything where the structure matters and the results are counted in decades. Capricorns run things, eventually everything, and they earned it the slow way.
Money is respect made visible, and it is saved, invested and never discussed at dinner.
Gets along with
Taurus and Virgo understand the plan. Scorpio and Pisces soften the edges. Cancer, the opposite sign, is the home the Capricorn is building toward and forgets to come back to.
