Together

Love
Aquarius finds Cancer's devotion fascinating, the way one finds a well-made old clock fascinating. Cancer finds Aquarius exciting and slightly impossible to hold. The trouble is the birthday. Aquarius forgets it, not from lack of love but from a mind that works in decades. Cancer remembers it, remembers that it was forgotten, and remembers that next year too.
Friendship
Odd and good. Aquarius drags Cancer to the meeting about the park, Cancer brings sandwiches for everyone, and both come home feeling useful.
Work
Aquarius designs the new process, Cancer explains it to the people who will have to live with it. Without Cancer, the reform fails. Without Aquarius, there is no reform.
Where it breaks
Detachment against need. When Cancer is upset, Aquarius offers analysis, and Cancer hears a stranger.
