The general horoscope

Tonight the Moon is exactly half lit, and that is the whole forecast: the middle. Picture a book open on the arm of the sofa, the bookmark at page two hundred of four hundred. The opening chapters were exciting. The ending is somewhere ahead, unread. The middle is where most people put the book down and pick up the phone. The Sun squares the Moon in Capricorn almost to the minute, and the first quarter asks for one thing only, the next page. Mars still trines Saturn, so steady effort holds up better than inspiration. Mercury drifts toward its square with Jupiter, and skipping ahead to see how it all turns out will be tempting. Venus, retrograde, squares Pluto almost exactly, and an old chapter you thought was closed may fall open on its own. Read it once, then turn back to where you were. Sunday is good for this kind of reading. Nobody is waiting for the ending. The frog has finished many books. Every one of them had a middle.
