The Chariot - tarot card drawn by the frog

Major arcana · VII

The Chariot

Upright

drive · victory · control · forward

The Chariot is driven by a figure with no reins, holding two sphinxes - one black, one white - in line by will alone. The card means victory through control: not of others, but of your own contradictory forces, harnessed toward one aim. Upright, it speaks of momentum, determination, a hard-won success and the confidence to keep moving. It favors focus over doubt and action over debate.

Two horses, two directions, and she held the reins and smiled.

Which two parts of you are pulling, and who is driving?

Reversed

loss of direction · aggression · running in place

Reversed, the Chariot has lost its driver. The horses pull apart, the force becomes aggression or scattering, and all the speed produces no distance. It can mean a loss of direction, a goal pursued without reason, or control that has turned into a cage. The card asks you to stop and check that the road is still under the wheels.

The chariot was magnificent and the wheels were not touching the ground.

Where are you going so fast that you cannot say where?
