Justice
Upright
truth · balance · consequence · the fair weight
Justice sits with a sword upright in one hand and scales level in the other, looking straight at you. The card means truth and consequence: things weighed clearly, decisions made on what is, accounts settled. Upright, it speaks of fairness, accountability, a legal or moral matter resolving as it should, and the clarity that comes from telling the truth, including to yourself.
The scales did not care who was crying.
What would be fair here, if you were not the one it costs?
Reversed
unfairness · avoidance · the thumb on the scale
Reversed, Justice is the scale with a thumb on it. Unfairness, dishonesty, a refusal to take responsibility, or a judgment made from bias rather than fact. It can also mean avoiding a reckoning that is due. The card asks where the balance is off, and whether you are the one leaning on it.
He weighed the evidence and kept the thumb on the pan.
What are you not being honest with yourself about?
