Judgement
Upright
awakening · reckoning · the call · rising
Judgement shows figures rising from their graves at the sound of an angel's trumpet, arms open. The card means awakening: a reckoning with the past that frees you from it, a call that cannot be unheard, the moment of seeing your life clearly and choosing to rise. Upright, it speaks of forgiveness, renewal, a decision that changes everything, and the courage to answer when you are summoned.
The trumpet sounded and everyone got up, even the ones who had been pretending to sleep.
What is calling you that you keep answering with later?
Reversed
self-doubt · refusing the call · the unexamined past
Reversed, Judgement is the call refused. Self-doubt, harsh self-judgment, a past that is never examined and so never finished, or the fear of what rising would require. It can mean a verdict passed on yourself long before any evidence. The card asks what you would have to forgive in order to stand up.
She heard the trumpet and turned up the radio.
What judgment of yourself is older than the evidence?
